chorusLine
The TD Bank at Court and Union Street, Brooklyn has a three panel electronic display. The daily display content consists of bank advertising composed of images, text and some digital video. The "chorusLine" is a video animation created from a video of La Guardia high school students in Manhattan performing a skit on stage during a school production. The female students entered stage left, single file, following one after the other until they reach their spots on the platform. They were members of the Jazz Club. They were wearing glitter encrusted show dresses.
A travelling matte is created from the video documentation of the street scene. Then the matte is superimposed over the "chorusLine" animation.
That is, holes are cut out of the documentary video where the electronic signage exists in each frame and the "chorusLine" animation appears
through those cut outs.
Walking on the way to TD Bank there is scaffolding cantilevered over the sidewalk in front of the church
which has been converted into coop apartments on the corner of President and Court Streets.
